Background roll when supported on either end tend to sag in the middle in the case of paper backgrounds this means you will get centre wrinkles in your paper right behind where the subject is. These tubes when joined together solve this age old problem and extend the life of your background plus make rolling out backgrounds smoother. A must have for the studio photographer.

Helpful tip: original cardboard core of the paper roll should be discarded, then paper taped and rolled onto the aluminium tubes.
